Super siblings

Look! It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Super Guy and Sparkle Fairy, preparing for something big--saving the day, rescuing a kitten from a tall, tall tree or just flying aimlessly through the house.

Here is the commentary they offered up while they paused for a brief photo shoot:

"I'm almost ready for my flight," Sparkle Fair softly announces, while holding so still for my snapping.

Super Guy, who is currently harnessing the unique power of injecting himself into any conversation simply by repeating what the last person said, announces: "I all ready for my 'swight.'"

I continue snapping. Sparkle Fairy offers a warning of her eminent departure.

"Five, four, three ..."

Super Guy, interrupting: "six, 'elewen.'"

Sparkle Fairy resumes the count-down: "... two, one. Bye-bye! Pshwoo!"

Off she goes.

Super Guy: "Pshwoo!" but with much more spitting and lunging forward.

Flying might have been Sparkle Fairy's idea, but Super Guy's execution is always much more dynamic.

  1. Adorable! I love the serious tones that are adopted by kids during pretend play. So sweet.
