As journalist I wrote about small town government and organic cheese farms. Now a decade later, I write about these very full days with four young children and our life on the move with the military. Writing is no longer my profession, but it's still my passion.

Part III
My beautiful sis-in-law C has been with us for a week-and-a-half and we've all loved her presence in our daily activities. We have dragged her (and she has come along with apparent or at least well-feigned willingness) on every adventure and errand we could squeeze into these recent summer days.
She giggled and clapped along with us to "Puppet Circo" at the children's theater. She accompanied us to a doctor appointment, a play date at the park and trips to the grocery store. She trekked at least a mile round-trip with us to watch seals off the La Jolla shore and indulged N and I when we chose cooking shows and 80s movies over her favorite evening TV programs.
We're glad C came. We hope she knows how much we love her and how easily our tots welcomed her into their rituals and routine. We hope she'll forgive the potty-training messes, long afternoons out in the sunshine and C's mandatory "nakey time" every evening. We can't wait for her to come again.

The puppeteer almost looks like Aaron. I actually thought it was him at first glance (with waxed eyebrows though). Do I recognize the burger place? I'm so glad you've spent quality time with C. I'm sure she has grown alot from this adventure. Thank you, thank you.
ReplyDeleteMama, I had to comment on your spelling error. Can you find it? ;)
