...for a Messiah to arrive, for Nana to come with hugs and smiles, for cookies to cool, for a face-to-face visit with Mr. Claus himself, for stockings to bulge with treats, for the signal, at last, to dig into the delicious packages under the tree.
I recently discovered Margaret Wise Brown's "On Christmas Eve" and I think it captures the season's breathless anticipation and the palpable magic that thickens the air on Christmas Eve.
It's a wonder anyone can sleep right now.
And you know who else is having a hard time waiting...
