My cute little flip-top sugar bowl has been lonely ever since our Bodum French press coffee maker shattered in an unfortunate dish-washing incident back in Florida. For a while we brewed morning Joe in our automatic drip machine, but it seemed silly to set that clunky plastic Cuisinart FilterBrew next to our stylish sugar dish on the counter top. It was like forcing an arranged marriage between a lovely young museum curator and a middle-aged truck driver. They never really fit. Plus the coffee they made together was just so-so.
Then N found the adorable French press pictured above for a song at World Market last weekend and brought it home to sit atop the granite in a place of honor next to sweet flip-top sugar and the two have been inseparable ever since. Don't they make a handsome couple? We're hoping they'll produce many little cups of joy for us every morning for years to come.
Now we're talking romance. Nice writing, D. You've inspired me to check out World Market this afternoon...
ReplyDeleteOh, be careful. You're certain to find something you never knew you "needed" so desperately.
