Dance

Now, I present for your viewing pleasure ...

"The Lion"

An original interpretive dance starring Calvin as: "The King"

Casting, directing and costume design by Liliana.

Act 1, Scene 1

The King roams the grasslands, searching for prey.

He exposes his claws, checking their sharpness. Like gleaming razors, they glint in the cruel African sun.

He crouches in the bush, silently awaiting unsuspecting lunch to wander past.

What's that? An impala? Wildebeest? Kudu? No matter. To the lion it looks delicious. He fixes his eyes on his prey.

A sudden breeze disrupts his focus. (That pesky mane gets in the way at the most inopportune moments.) Drat!

Scene 2

The wind settles and the prey has vanished. The King's wanting belly rumbles.

ROAR!!!

The King skulks away ... still hungry.

It will be a long, hot afternoon on the Savannah for the king of beasts.
