Today went great! Kindergarten orientation was a good idea--a dry run for us new-to-school families.
We met L's teacher and (based on first impressions) it turns out she's very nice and seems like a good match for our L. We have high hopes for the year.
Most of all, our big girl isn't nervous anymore. In fact, she even went up to her teacher after the presentation and asked a question all by herself. She wanted to know if there would be show-and-tell at kindergarten. Yes, there will be show-and-tell, and snack time and recess and there's even a garden her class is in charge of tending just outside her classroom.
And I think N and I are ready to let her go come Wednesday morning, too.
And despite their surly expressions in this family photo, the boys are ready, too. Although, we think C would prefer to stay in Ms. Gregory's class with L, too. They have some pretty cool toys there.

Wednesday?! Eeep!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to know she feels more comfortable, and that you do too. I hope she loves it as much as she seems like she will. You've got a smart, creative little girl, and I think she'll have a wonderful kindergarten year :)
But poor C....it's got to be rough for him! Maybe this just means his own transition into school will be looked forward to with nothing but anticipation :)
Hoping Wednesday goes fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, surly indeed! But your sweet girl looks very confident :) Glad it went well!
ReplyDeleteOh, my. L looks so pretty and confident. And btw, you are certainly a beautiful family. Looking forward to a great post tomorrow. Love to all.
