Babymooning

Is there anything sweeter ...

... than a sleepy, snuggly newborn?

Always warm--like a little pat of butter sitting in the sunlight.

Pursing his lips, squeaking, grimacing, hiccuping, nuzzling, suckling, gazing with piercing gray eyes.

And now, he holds me while I hold him, with long, thin newly grasping fingers. He wraps them around the side of my arms and neck and tugs on my shirt while he eats.

And then there are the toes...

Be still my heart. I'm in love.

We had our first day back to regular life again. Family is gone. N returned to work, and do you know what? We survived. We thrived. We had a good day even. As long as H was attached to me and the kids had ample food, rest and activity, we did OK.

  1. Good for you on making it through that first day with a positive attitude! I'm almost 4 months in with my newest and I still feel like I'm babymooning :) Your little guy is precious!

(P.S. I love that you compared him to a pat of butter!)
