Banner days

When your birthday falls on Memorial Day, here's what you should do:

Step into your swimsuit and load your friends, family and some hotdogs, chips and cold drinks into the car.

Head to the nearest spray park before the sun gets too hot.

Eat a picnic lunch, down some freezer pops and open your presents.

Get good and soaked in the spray park.

Head home and set up camp in your air-conditioned livingroom with the new 3-D books you got in one of your birthday packages.

If you have enough steam by dinner time, gulp down some of Mama's world-famous skillet mac-n-cheese with bacon and finish with one of Papa's world-famous chocolate-peanutbutter sundaes. Refer to the sundaes as "Mondaes" in honor of your special day.

If your mama insists on sticking a candle in your dessert and singing to you, request something besides "Happy Birthday" -- perhaps something from the Madagascar soundtrack.

  2. Looks like you guys celebrated to the fullest! Those 3D books would be huge hits here.

And I know this has NOTHING to do with sweet Calvin's birthday, but little brother's hair is SO WILD AND CURLY!! And I thought you should know that it makes me smile :)
