I would have lamented the passage of time and my sweet 6-year-old's rapid rate of growth since her first day of kindergarten just last year.
And there would have been something about this young man, who is starting his Pre-K year and will likely learn to read, count to 100 and memorize even more names of obscure dinosaurs and mammals of the Serengeti by year's end.
I would skip the part about how he'll be ready for kindergarten this time next year. That part makes me feel sad and I don't like to talk about it.
Then there's the baby.
I would have told you that he will probably learn the most of anyone this year as he buzzes around our classroom, soaking up every word he hears from his brother, sister and me.
He's growing up, too, you know.
I had planned to tell you that our first day of homeschool went great and that I'm feeling optimistic.
Then I would have given you some anecdotes from our day and taken you on a photographic tour of our classroom.
But I'm not going to do that today.
I'm not because something so supremely important happened today and I have to take a moment to record it here.
After months (about a year, actually) of anticipation... at last ... really and truly ... a bona fide ... loose tooth!
On the first day of first grade no less.
Now that was worth the interruption, wasn't it?
Yahoo! She sure has been anticipating that!!! And boy are these kids cute, one and all. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteLol! Love it! Mase keeps telling us that his 2 front teeth are "just about loose". He wants it sooo bad!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your big girl and to what I'm sure was a successful first day of school!
So cute!!! hopefully the tooth fairy won't break the bank...
