As journalist I wrote about small town government and organic cheese farms. Now a decade later, I write about these very full days with four young children and our life on the move with the military. Writing is no longer my profession, but it's still my passion.

Housekeeping
Henry is napping better these days. Hallelujah! I've written a little about that here.
This bountiful blessing has not only yielded a well-rested baby, but it also affords Calvin and me a nice chunk of time alone to play games, read books and have lunch together.
Before we get down to business, though, we take a minute to round up clutter and suck up yesterday's debris from the floors.
Calvin likes that he can operate "the kitty-litter sucker" all by himself, which involves plugging and unplugging the cord and flipping a toggle switch between on, and off ... on, and off ... on, and off.
I like that he's not lazing around and whining about reading books while I tidy our nest.
It's a routine that works for us, until someday soon the novelty wears off.

ReplyDeleteI guess it lost my previous comment. I said that this was another of my favorite blogs. So heartfelt and sweet. And I can't believe I see Miss L in jeans!! And cute flared legs!!
ReplyDeleteL--It's a little warm, but oh so fashionable for house-cleaning attire.
ReplyDeleteN--Still tinkering with the template. Little...bits...at...a...time.
