Experience: Going on three years raising baby brothers.


Work History

May 2007-present: Big sister to Calvin.

Skills required: Holding a newborn, retrieving diapers, reading stories, ignoring tantrums and enduring long periods of whining.

Major accomplishments: Brother is now 2 1/2 years old, knows his alphabet, can count to 10 and is nearly potty-trained.

December 2009 to present: Big sister to Henry.

Skills required: Ability to hold an infant without squishing him. Inserting words like "onesie" "shushing" and "fussy" into daily conversation and understanding what they mean. Giving polite responses to condescending questions from total strangers such as: "Is this your new baby?" and "Are you a big helper to mommy?"

Major accomplishments: Often being the only one in the family capable of soothing a screaming baby on car trips. Soliciting the best newborn smiles.

  2. What a wonderful way to spotlight such a special girl. Being able to recognize and give her praise for all the "little things" she does on a daily basis (that most would take for granted), really paints a picture as to the type of person L is growing up to be. What a wonderful tribute!
