As journalist I wrote about small town government and organic cheese farms. Now a decade later, I write about these very full days with four young children and our life on the move with the military. Writing is no longer my profession, but it's still my passion.

What HE does:
--remembers to send flowers for Mothers' Day while he's three continents away.
--wrestles, snuggles, tickles, listens to and makes plans with his two little children as soon as he steps in the door from a three-day journey home.
--isn't afraid to be the one to say 'no' or to bow out when only mama will do after three weeks away from the parenting game.
--makes dinner.
--takes care of every household chore I couldn't get to yesterday without my even mentioning them.
--stays up through bedtime stories despite the fact that it's 6 a.m. where he came from and he's been up all day.
--couldn't be happier to celebrate his belated birthday with princess-adorned cupcakes because his little girl chose the decorations.
