This is a fun side-by-side comparison to show how fast our children our growing.
In the first photo, L is 2 years old, weighs about 25 lbs. and is 34 inches tall. C was 4 days old, weighing 5 lbs. 3 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches tall.
In the second one--taken today--L is 3 and weighs 31 pounds, 3 feet 3 inches tall. C is 10 months old and I'm just guessing he's about 19 pounds, not sure of his height these days. I think they actually look like siblings here, too.
We're fighting colds yet again this week. First N, now the two kiddos at the same time. It's only a matter of time before I get snared by the yuck bugs, too. At least the sun shines on us when we make our frequent runs for OJ, Kleenex, eucalyptus oil etc.
Fabulous news from the Navy today: Written orders for our next tour! That means we have official word that N is scheduled to check into his new squadron in October. That means we have six months to close our time here and get settled into our new home. Perfect! I get butterflies just thinking about all of the excitement and uncertainty the next two seasons hold for us. Here we go...
As a bit of trivia, here is a list of N's squadron mascots past and present. Doer Birds (a sort of blackbird with the slogan "VT-2 can do and safely, too"), Sting Rays, Tridents (like Neptune's fork), Pros Nest (for his current training squadron--a big eagle clutching a baby eagle in flight, so cute). Any creative guesses about what his new moniker will be out west?
Think fierce Spanish warrior...
He will become a Conquistador. Sounds pretty tough, huh?
I"m thoroughly impressed with the stats you have on your kids...past and present!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ones!
Yahoo, congratulations on the written orders. I'm keeping you in prayer every day for smooth sailing. And of course, thanks for the wonderful pictures of the cutest babies in the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I'm battling your family's crud now! I swear, don't be surprised when I show up in a HAZMAT suit next time.
ReplyDeleteI'll be a Wizard so Conquistador doesn't sound so bad.
Peace out homies
Conquistadors? Ha! When you move to SD, note that there's a school in the desert with the mascot The Arabs. I am not making this up!
