Fairy day

There's this garden about an hour from our house that hosts a fairy festival every spring. Liliana's sweet kindergarten teacher had commended it to us several months ago and I've had it on my mental calendar ever since.

Today was the day. We loaded up and headed out. And it turned out to be pretty fabulous.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up and to enter their very own fairy garden creations for a judging competition.

The entries were whimsical and dripping with glitter. Some where stunning.

Our fairy made her own garden.

The magic was all around us.

And the parade of (real) fairies was exquisite.

My favorite part was following this particular fairy as she meandered through the garden.

Turns out, she has a pretty tolerant group of boys for an entourage. They stood their ground amid the tulle and glitter.

And it helped that we hit an air-conditioned pizza parlor with arcade games after all of the fanfare of fairyland had faded for the day.
