For the past couple of years I've been wanting to make St. Patrick's Day a fun, silly celebration. But I've failed each time.
This year is going to be different. This year, we're poised for greatness.
Here's why:
The kiddos sprang out of bed and right into their own hand-chosen green ensembles. I didn't even have to remind them.
Liliana created a leprechaun trap for her classroom and crafted a very tall Irishy hat to bring to show-and-tell today.
Calvin spent all of breakfast time and our morning commute inviting all things green to a St. Patrick's Day party at our house tonight (I didn't know we were hosting one). Among those on our guest list are the grass, the trees, a stuffed frog, a plastic turtle and Henry's socks.
And Baby Henry even smiled for a photo this year. Hooray!
We're planning a meal of spinach tortellini with basil pesto, broccoli and kiwi, because nothing says Happy St. Paddy's Day like Italian food and tropical fruit.
And just for fun, look at this snapshot from one year ago today.
What a difference a year makes!
New home. Bigger kiddos. Grown-up baby. And I'm feeling even luckier these days.

So cute! I love the green party and the guest list :)
