With N on a trip, the kiddos and I have taken to packing our days with exploring our new neighborhood, getting equal amounts of sunshine and rest and scheduling lots and lots of play dates.
We have rediscovered our local farmer's market, from which our new home is happily situated just two short blocks.
The kiddos selected juicy, red tomatoes and pink naval oranges on Tuesday.
And the harbor-side beach is just footsteps from the market. We met up with some of L and C's best buddies and they four collected live mollusks revealed by the low tide and poked at many an unsuspecting anemone, who responded with squeal-producing squirts of saltwater.
At home, we planted a very modest patio herb garden, for which I have equally modest expectations of actually producing anything green.
L and I finally got back to a little bit of schooling during a rare dual nap for the boys.
This is what H looks like when he's napping.
And this is his new favorite way to spend his awake time.
OK, maybe this is his favorite way to spend awake time.
The cats even did a little exploring of their own this week.
This all was a lot to pack into the first three days of the week.
Now, if I could tap into enough common sense to turn off Olympics coverage at 10 p.m. each night and go to bed, I might be able to keep up with all of this with a little less help from Mr. Coffee.

The farmer's market 2 blocks away?! And a beach around the corner?! You guys picked a fantastic spot.
ReplyDeleteAnd little H's sweet sleep-pose...it makes me feel rested and calm just looking at him. Such a sweetie.
good to see you're settling. Seems you picked a great new spot to live. I can't imagine moving with no help AND a newborn.
ReplyDeletebravery = you and N.
Oh, so nice to see the kids and imagine you behind the camera, all enjoying your new home. As always I send my sincere gratitude for the glimpse of your day. Blessings to you all.
ReplyDeleteI love the updated pictures, plus you gotta love the farmers market...
