We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with our good friends C,K & A. It was a bittersweet time together as we won't have another full-family gathering with them for quite some time. We've been giving thanks together annually for the past seven years as the Navy kept us stationed together from the very beginnings of our transient journeys. First in Corpus Christi as two pairs of newlyweds in flight school, then several times in Maine as we grew our careers and families and for a few times in the Florida sunshine. Soon it will be time to go our separate ways. We had an early turkey dinner together yesterday on the eve of N's departure for Pensacola and C's trip to Hawaii. We had a great time.
N leaves this afternoon for his month of school in the panhandle. It's hard to face that much family separation and knowing we have just a month left to figure out what to do with our house. The Realtor contract will expire in a few weeks. We have the "for rent" sign out front. We're hoping and praying for a solution soon. We know one will come.
We dined on gator tail and fried shrimp at crazy Clark's Fish Camp one last time over the weekend. The moving company came to take measurements last week. We've made some photo memory books for friends. We're planning a farewell play date. Closure is coming in bits and pieces along the way. We'll soon be ready to move on.
What a great tradition to share with friends. I will be praying your transition goes smoothly and also for the sale?/rent of your house. We just sold our rental house in Pensacola( by the grace of God) If N needs a good church recommendation while he is in Pensacola, we know of a great one!
