Weekend Vacation

We had a fantastic weekend celebrating mothers' day and N's 30th birthday in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral and wanted to share a few pictures of the fun. It was a gorgeous weekend--sunny, warm but breezy enough to keep us comfortable. We mostly dug in the sand, splashed in the surf, swam in the hotel swimming pool and ate yummy food. Being so close to the Atlantic Ocean-just outside our back door--was a nice treat and the kiddos loved it. We explored historic Cocoa Village one day, which was a cute town and also drove around Cape Canaveral, saw the impressive launch sites and stopped at the astronaut hall of fame. The Canaveral National Seashore had, in our opinion, one of the top five prettiest beaches we've seen (Florida panhandle and Hawaii included). It was a weekend filled with blessings and very few meltdowns despite the 3-hour drive.

This week we're headlong into interviewing realtors and taking care of all of the new flowers and shrubs we've added to the yards to enhance our curb appeal. L and N will head to Albuquerque next week for a friend's wedding. While I'm excited for them to have the bonding time and visit with Nana and Grandpa V, I'm going to miss L disparately. C and I are planning some good mother-son time.

  1. L's idea for the hats was brilliant.Very cute pictures. I liked the pool pictures, too! And the sink bath and the ice cream and the car seats, pretty much every one of them.
    Love you all.
