The people in this photo started school today.
Which, is not such a big deal if you're a fifth-grader and you're a hallway patrol, which pretty much means you run the school.
Nor is it particularly burdensome when you're starting the third grade and you've managed to gain placement into the Spanish class that contains all of your buddies.
But if you're this guy? Today ... you have arrived. You're, at long last, joining your big sibs at their big school. It's time for kindergarten!
And if you're his Mama, it's pretty hard to let him go. It's hard not to miss him while you're posting pictures of him on the blog. It's hard to fight the urge to stalk the school, peer through his classroom window, catch a glimpse of him navigating the playground and pop in to see if he got his yogurt squeezer open in the cafeteria.
Until I get return this afternoon to scoop him into a hug and ask how it all went down, I have this guy to keep me from falling to pieces.
He's a wonderful time-filler and I'm glad I I've got him.
