Holiday sing

Do you remember your first school Christmas program?

Do you remember the kid you stood next to?

The songs you practiced for hours and hours until you just couldn't shake them out of your head?

How you drove your family to the brink of insanity by singing, snapping and humming the choruses over, and over, and over, and over again until at last the performance arrived?

Do you remember the sparkled ballet flats and snow-white stockings your mother bought for you before the big day--the ones that didn't make it through recess without a few grass stains?

Do you remember the sign language motions to "Silent Night" and the names of all of the reindeer?

Do you remember the face your brother made when you spotted him in the audience and waved to him from your enviable position on the second-to-top step of the risers?

I don't remember any of the details of my first Christmas sing-along. But I probably won't be able to forget hers for as long as I live.

And since I've been embarrassingly negligent about keeping track of our days lately, I'm doing some back-posting to catch up. Here's a little something about Baby HP's first moves.

  1. She is such a beautiful kindergartener. And she's grown so tall and poised. I wish I had heard the joyful and prideful sounds of those voices.

  2. She is so pretty! I love the expression on her face in the first photo.
