I had to include a link to this hilarious story about a mother of eight who has to venture out for a day of clothes shopping.
This cute story reminded me of my own horrors of shopping for clothing post-baby with a reformed body I had previously heard other mothers refer to as "never the same" with a chaser of "but don't worry. It's all worth it." I realized what they all had meant when the Victoria's Secret clerk sized me for my first bra post weaning L and I saw the numbers going down. Or when I was pregnant with C and I slipped my adorably round figure into a ruffly maternity sundress in the Old Navy dressing room only to turn my back to the mirror and discover a varicose vein had sprouted out of my once-perfect calf.
And now I'm in that stage of early pregnancy of being too big to close my jeans anymore, but too small to fill out that stretchy panel in the maternity trousers. I needed to commiserate and this story fit the bill.
That was indeed very funny! And oh, so true for lots of us.
ReplyDeleteSo not the point of your post...but have you tried a belly band thingy (huggalugs has a great one)? Or the old rubber-band trick on your non-preggo pants? I am a natural slob, so yoga pants get me from non-baby, through pregnancy and post-partum...but NOW I'm having issues. Anyway...
